The conspiracy thriller Shooter (Paramount) shot to No 1 position at the Australian box office after an opening weekend gross of $AUD1,473,558 in late April.
Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Departed, Invincible) heads a cast that also boasts Michael Pena, Danny Glover and Rhona Mitra.
The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and based on the novel Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter.
The director of photography on Shooter was Australian cinematographer, Peter Menzies, Jr. ACS (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Die Hard With a Vengeance).
