Music Resounds in Apollo Bay

29 March 2007

Paul Kelly heads the stellar bill celebrating 15 years of the Apollo Bay Music Festival from 20 to 22 April 2007. The Hoodoo Gurus, Blue King Brown, The Audreys, Sodastream and local heroes The Vasco Era are just a few of the bands covering a spectrum of sound from rock, pop, roots, blues, folk, country, classical, jazz and world music.

No fences, no gates, set your own pace at this popular music festival and indulge as you please in two days and three nights of endless entertainment. Step into the sounds of James Reyne, Ash Grunwald, Vika and Linda Bull, Oils guitarist Jim Moginie's band, hip-hopsters Curse Ov Dialect, The Beautiful Girls, Bertie Blackman, Cornerstone Roots, Snowman, Sand Pebbles, Detonators, Exploders and 60 other acts, or step out onto the Great Ocean Walk, or play golf, go sailing, surfing, hang-gliding or cycling mere metres from the music.

Surf legend and former world champion Nat Young hosts a forum for surfers in one of many extra events packaged into the one ticket price. There's a skateboarding competition and beginners workshop and aspiring musicians can enter the performers, songwriters and buskers competitions. Add the ever-popular kids tent, roving street performers, a vintage car parade, 8 feet tall Snuff Puppets and fireworks to a bulging bill and the family-friendly festival delivers big time at low cost for all ages.
