Pieter Wispelwey joins ACO tour
29 March 2007
In April 2007, the Australian Chamber Orchestra embarks on its ninth North American tour led by Artistic Director and Lead Violin, Richard Tognetti. Acclaimed Dutch cellist Pieter Wispelwey joins the Orchestra for the tour.
The tour features notable returns to Santa Fe, Boston and New York, and a first visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Other concerts in the tour are Pasadena, Daytona, Thomasville, Morrow, Amherst, Dartmouth, Portland and Maryland.
Richard Tognetti will be taking his 'new' $10 million violin on the US tour - the recently donated Carrodus violin, made by Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù in 1743.
