Heide Fellows Announced

Heide Museum of Modern Art has announced the appointment of the 2006 Heide Fellows: artist and sculptor Inge King and architectural photographer John Gollings.

The Heide Fellow Award was created as a means of honouring people who have made an exceptional contribution to the development of Heide Museum of Modern Art.

The Heide Fellowship is an honorary appointment. King and Gollings join a distinguished group of individuals who have contributed to the development and thinking at Heide, including:

An advocate of public sculpture, Inge King is one of Australia's most respected artists and her support of the Museum has been significant, through exhibitions, public programs and artworks.

Inge King's production and siting of the landmark sculpture Rings of Saturn (2005-06), located in Heide's new Sir Rupert Hamer Garden, enabled this work to be commissioned on a large scale. King also donated the maquette for Rings of Saturn to the Museum.

John Gollings is a leading architectural photographer. His documentation of Heide's changing environment spans decades, chronicling many phases in the Museum's physical development. His photographs form an integral part of the Heide Archives, including an important contribution to Heide catalogues and publications.

Gollings has supported Heide in both providing professional services and in promoting Heide, within architecture, design and building circles in Australia and overseas.
