Playwright Hilary Bell commissioned by New York Theatre company

In honour of New York's Atlantic Theatre Company's 20th Anniversary Season, the company has commissioned twenty of their past playwrights to write one-act plays, including Sydney-based Hilary Bell.

The Atlantic Theatre has previously staged Bell's award-winning Wolf Lullaby.

Aside from Bell’s piece the festival, called 10x20, features new work by playwrights Jez Butterworth (Mojo), Kia Corthron, Tom Donaghy, John Guare (Six Degrees of Separation), Peter Hedges, Tina Howe, Quincy Long, Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss), David Mamet, Joe Penhall, David Rabe, Keith Reddin and Edwin Sanchez, among others.

The festival runs June 14 through July 1, 2006 at the Atlantic Theatre in New York City.
