The State of Design Announces new Award!

The State of Design has created a new Award to recognise outstanding design leadership across the community. Design leadership resides in many domains of our society and it is realised in both tangible and intangible ways. Design leaders are often visionaries through their roles as CEO’s, directors, managers or chairs who say “yes” to the creators, designers and innovators in their midst.
The recipient of this extremely important award will be an individual, not necessarily a professional designer, who has had a profound influence on our community and its design culture. We are seeking an individual whose exemplary leadership has advanced Victoria’s design capital and cultural development
“This award is designed to recognise the visionaries who have had the courage to help shape the character and the personality of this State of Design,” says Di Fleming, Director of lab.3000.
"Nominations are encouraged from diverse walks of life, from leaders who are advocates of difference and innovators who have encouraged change.”
Nominations are now invited for this inaugural Premier’s Award for Design Leadership 2006.
The winner will be announced at the Premier’s Design Awards in October 2006
Closing date for nominations is 5.00 pm, Tuesday 13 June 2006.
