Melbourne Fringe is calling for expressions of interest

21 April 2006

The 2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival is only four and a half months away.

Melbourne Fringe is calling for expressions of interest from artists wanting to perform at the Festival Hub in North Melbourne.

The Melbourne Fringe Festival Hub is the primo place for any type of event performance, circus, comedy, cabaret, music, movement and dance or visual art.

A variety of spaces are available, from an intimate 35 seater to a pros arch 330 seat theatre. In 2005 53 events were presented at the Festival Hub with unprecedented success. The Hub expanded its number of venues and importantly the box office sold 40% more tickets than the previous year.

The Festival Hub offers artists subsidised venue rental, Box Office/Front of House management, a venue technician, production advice, targeted Hub publicity and marketing materials, plus more…

The Festival Hub is also home to the pumping and quixotic Festival Club. Continuing on from its glamorous revamp in 2005, the Club will extend its headline programming across the Hub’s 14 nights, stamping itself on the Fringe season as the place to laugh, chat and cavort until the wee hours – with FREE entry!

Be part of Melbourne Fringe – our own unique independent arts occasion whatever your artform, whatever your career stage, presenting whatever you want.
