Bell Shakespeare welcomes new board member

Bell Shakespeare has announced the appointment of Chris Jordan to Bell Shakespeare’s Board of Directors.

Chris Jordan is the NSW Chairman, KPMG, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Taxation, which is an advisory body to the Federal Treasurer, Peter Costello and a member of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation Board. He has also been appointed by the NSW Minister for Tourism and Sport and Recreation to the Games Advisory Committee of the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games.

Chris Jordan was awarded the honour of Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2005 Queens Birthday Honours list and was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001.

“I am delighted to welcome Chris to the Board,” said Bell Shakespeare Chairman, Tim Cox AO. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position and will make an enormous contribution to the future of Bell Shakespeare. I and my fellow Board members look forward to working with him to ensure the continuing success of the Company.”

Chris Jordan joins the Board at an exciting time for Bell Shakespeare. As Australia’s national touring company, it continues to travel around Australia presenting modern and inspiring theatre productions and delivering an extensive range of education and community activities. In addition, the Company has recently undertaken its first UK tour with its production of The Comedy of Errors, which has delighted both audiences and critics, adding to its growing international reputation.
