Flowercut Film Festival calls for entries

18 January 2006

We are again calling for entries for the 4th annual Flower Cut Film Festival. The Festival sees the artistic fusion of silent film and live orchestrated music to create a unique and memorable film experience. 2005 saw submissions in excess of 30 films and the Festival drew international interest.

In 2006 we are again asking film makers to submit short films between 3 to 9 minutes in length. The films can be in any format – Super 8, 16mm, 35mm, SP Betacam and DVD. Preview copies should be submitted on DVD.

Films can be either narrative or non-narrative. We are calling for exciting imagery, experimental, comedy, drama and films created specifically for the festival.

The selected films will be provided to various bands to compose their own orchestrated music and accompany the films on 15 July 2006. All film makers screened at the Festival will be provided with a DVD of their film together with the original soundtrack.

There will be prizes up to $15,000.

For more information check out the entry form on the website.

Entry Due Date: 5 May 2006.
